Audrey Taylor Bores ’03 helped usher in a new era of Washington & Jefferson College athletics as the face of one of the Presidents’ newest varsity athletic programs in water polo.  Bores was W&J’s first-ever women’s water polo All-American after collecting the honor following the 2000 season.

A four-time Collegiate Water Polo All-Academic honoree, Bores set the standards for W&J water polo with 174 goals, 97 assists and 271 career points.  Those statistics stayed as the College record until 2009 and remain second in the program record books.

Bores, a four-year team captain, twice led Washington & Jefferson to appearances at the Collegiate III National Championship Tournament.  Following both national showings, Bores was selected to the National All-Tournament Team.  In 2000, the Presidents placed seventh nationally, while the 2001 squad improved on its final national ranking, placing sixth.

Bores also was a four-year letter winner for the W&J swimming & diving program and an all-conference honoree.  In 2002, field hockey was re-introduced as a varsity sport at the college and Bores was a member of that squad, making one of the College’s handful of three-sport female athletes during the 2000s.

Following her senior year, Bores was selected as the winner of the Walter C. Cooper Senior Female Athlete of the Year award.  As a junior, she received the Donald W. Ebert award for achievement in academics and athletics.  The five-time Dean’s list recipient also earned W&J’s Joseph A. Hardy Scholarship in Economics and Business.

Bores is a CPA and currently works for KLX Inc., in Wellington, Florida as the Director of Internal Audit following 11 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers as an Assurance Senior Manager.  During her time at the firm, she worked in the public company group with primarily consumer industrial products and retail sector clients, as well as serving as a Chief Auditor for the Florida market.
