Bobby Swallow ’09 is one of two football players in Washington & Jefferson College history to have been named to the American Football Coaches Association All-America Team twice during a career.

The left-handed quarterback and school record holder for passing touchdowns (104) and career completion percentage (.681), Swallow was a member of two Presidents’ Athletic Conference championship teams (2006, 2007).  The Presidents made four NCAA Division III playoff appearances during his career.  In 2008, W&J advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals and Swallow led the way with 37 touchdown passes.

He still owns the NCAA Division III record holder for lowest interception percentage among quarterbacks with at least 1,000 pass attempts (only 15 INTs thrown in 1,023 attempts).  Swallow also ranks eighth in NCAA Division III history in career pass efficiency (172.8) and 15th all-time in touchdown passes.

As a first-year starter in 2006, Swallow tossed 20 touchdown passes and led W&J to 10 victories, including a 27-23 road triumph over Christopher Newport in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs.

A year later, he guided W&J to a perfect 10-0 regular season during a season in which he set the school record with 46 touchdown passes in only 331 attempts.  Even more remarkable is that Swallow threw only three interceptions that season.

The 2008 Presidents advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals after playoff victories over Christopher Newport (35-29) and top-seeded Millsaps (35-20).  Swallow passed for 3,778 yards and produced 39 touchdowns (two rushing) as a senior.

Swallow and his wife, Kate, live in Cranberry Township, Pa.  He works for Novadaq as a territory sales manager.
