Kelli Gee ’08 made an immediate impact on the W&J track & field program, turning the Presidents into a conference championship contender.
As a freshman, Gee earned the 2005 PAC Women’s Track & Field MVP award after winning the long jump (17’10 ¼”) and triple jump (34’11 ¾”) events, while helping W&J to a second place team finish. She was also second in the 100 meters (13.36), while helping the 4x100 meter relay team to a runnerup finish (51.05).
In 2006, she established a PAC record during her long jump title (19’0 ¾”/5.81 meters) and led the Presidents to their first-ever track & field team championship. That record still stands today over a decade and a half later.
Gee and her teammates made it back-to-back team titles after claiming the 2007 championship. As a senior, she captured her fourth-straight conference long jump title, capping one of the top careers ever by a W&J track & field athlete.
A two-time NCAA national qualifier, Gee competed at the 2005 indoor and 2006 outdoor national championship meets in the long jump. She was one of 16 competitors to earn a spot at the 2005 indoors hosted in Bloomington, Ill., and posted a top leap of 5.13 meters. At the 2006 outdoor national meet, Gee collected a top mark of 5.16 meters at the event hosted in Lisle, Ill.
Gee, a Washington High School graduate, remains the W&J school record holder in both the long jump and triple jump events. She also excelled in the classroom and was a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-District choice (2006, 2007, 2008).
Gee graduated Suma Cum Laude in Biology, Phi Betta Kappa Academic Honor Society, fouryear Alpha Scholar and member of Phi Sigma Biological Honor Society.
