Lt . Col. Nicole David ’96 concluded her W&J basketball career as one of the top players in school history. As a senior, David was named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Player of the Year after leading the Presidents to their ninth conference basketball championship.

David averaged a double-double (12.7 ppg, 10.5 rpg) and shot 82 percent from the free throw line during her final year. David was also a key player on the Presidents’ 1994 championship squad which finished with a 19-5 record (7-1 PAC). That team won the first postseason women’s basketball championship in W&J history after claiming the 1994 ECAC Division III South Championship. Victories over Dickinson (79-73) and host Moravian (87-73) lifted the Presidents to the title.

David’s teams posted a 65-25 record during her four years, including a 26-6 mark in PAC games. She remains the ninth leading rebounder (687) in school history. David earned All-PAC accolades three times, including first-team awards as a junior and senior. She averaged 10.4 points per game in 87 career appearances.

David has served in the Air National Guard for 23 years. After earning a bachelor’s degree in English education, she enlisted in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, where she served as a traditional Guardsman for 5 years, while teaching high school English and literature.

At the rank of Staff Sergeant, David applied for a commission in Public Affairs and graduated from officer candidate school in 2002. During this time, she also earned her master’s degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix.

David took a teaching position in Denver, Col., transferred to the Colorado Air National Guard, and after 10 years of teaching high school and middle school Language arts, she decided to take a full time position (2010-2015) as the State Partnership Program Director for the Colorado-Jordan partnership.

From 2015-2019, David served in the Military Assistance Program, U.S. Embassy – Amman, Jordan as the Bilateral Affairs Officer for the Colorado-Jordan Partnership Program. Currently, Lt Col David is living in Germany serving as the National Guard Bureau State Partnership Program Liaison Officer to United States Air Forces Europe and Air Forces Africa.
David is married to Maggie Leturno and they have two Jordanian rescue cats, Romeo and Max.
