Regina (Dixon) Maddox ’99 led the Washington & Jefferson College women’s basketball program to a pair of Presidents’ Athletic Conference championships and the school’s second-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament during her four years.

The 1995-96 and 1997-98 Presidents captured conference titles and the 1997-98 squad earned a bid to the national tournament.

A 5-foot-8 guard, Maddox led W&J in scoring, assists, three-pointers made and steals in each of her last three seasons.  She became the seventh player in school history to score 1,000 points, finishing with 1,399 for her career (currently ranks sixth all-time).  Maddox averaged double-figure scoring totals all four years, including a career-best 18.7 point per game average during her junior season.

She dished out 283 career assists which is eighth in school history and her 116 three-pointers established the school record (now seventh).

Defensively, Maddox produced 223 career steals, posting at least 50 in each season.  She also managed to grab 359 career rebounds from her guard position.

Maddox was a four-time All-PAC honoree, including three All-PAC First Team awards.  The three-time Team Most Valuable Player is one of only five players in Washington & Jefferson College history to be selected First Team All-PAC three times during a career.
