Ted Cuneo ’78 was a dynamic two-sport student-athlete for the Presidents in the late 1970s.

Cuneo starred on both the football team during the fall and the wrestling team in the winter.

Cuneo was a three-time First Team All-PAC defensive lineman on the football squad, earning the honors following the 1975, 1976 and 1977 seasons.

He was awarded the W&J Team Most Valuable Player and the Babe Crouse awards as a senior. The Presidents won 16 games during his final three seasons on the squad.
A native of Greensburg, Pa., Cuneo was also a three-time All-PAC wrestler who held a 33-7-3 career record on the mat. He was the PAC 190-pound runner-up as a freshman and sophomore.

As a junior, Cuneo posted an 11-1 record in the heavyweight division, including a perfect 9-0 mark in the regular season.

After graduating from W&J, Cuneo was commissioned into the United States Army, serving over 20 years in various assignments in both the United States and overseas before retiring in 1998. His last assignment was with the Office of the Inspector General at the Pentagon.

Subsequent to his retirement from the Army, Cuneo worked as a defense contractor with several companies and on various army programs from 1998 thru 2002. He went back into federal service in 2002, working with several federal agencies until retiring in January 2017 as the Chief of Staff for the Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer, Department of Homeland Security.
Cuneo and his lovely wife, Ines, have been married for over 34 years. Their children and grandchildren are in attendance; daughter Nicole and her husband Jeff, son TJ (Edward III), and grandchildren; Nick, Alex and Sophie.
