Todd Fry ’03 was one of the most talented student-athletes to ever put on a W&J uniform.  An All-America football player and national-qualifying track athlete, Fry wowed Presidents’ fans with his speed, quickness and agility.

On the gridiron, Fry finished as the school record holder with 186 receptions (currently ranks third all-time) from his wide receiver position for 3,042 yards and 26 touchdowns.  His 94 catches during the 2001 season remains the school record.  Fry also finished second in NCAA Division III with 135.9 receiving yards per game.  Following that year, he was selected as a First Team All-American by Hewlett Packard.

Fry excelled in the NCAA playoffs for the Presidents with 26 receptions for 375 yards and four touchdowns in NCAA postseason games.  During a 24-21 NCAA playoff win over Western Maryland in 2001, Fry had seven catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning, 17-yard grab with 73 seconds remaining.

Fry became the first W&J student-athlete to qualify for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in 2002. He posted a time of 7.70 seconds in the 55-meter high hurdles.

He was twice selected as the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Track & Field Most Valuable Player (1999, 2000).  During the 2001 PAC championship meet, Fry won four events (100m, 200m, 110m hurdles and triple jump), while placing third in three other events.  Recently, Fry was honored on the PAC 60th Anniversary Track & Field Team.

After graduating from W&J, Fry signed a free agent contract with the Detroit Lions.  He also spent time with the Ottawa Renegades in the Canadian Football League and the Ohio Valley Greyhounds of the United Indoor Football Association.
