VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Washington & Jefferson College sophomore
Claire Anderson (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown) concluded a stellar indoor season by competing in the first round of the Women's Mile Friday at the 2024 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The two-day championship event is being held at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va., with Norfolk State University serving as host.
Anderson competed in the second heat of the first round of the event Friday. Anderson finished 17th among the 20 qualifying runners for this year's championship event. Anderson logged a time of 5:05.42 in the event.
The sophomore was making her first appearance at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships.
Anderson has qualified for NCAA Division III Championships in three-straight seasons. She qualified for NCAA Outdoor Championships as a freshman in the 1,500 and then in the fall, she won the PAC Women's Cross Country Championship and later earned All-Region laurels while qualifying for the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
