MOHNTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College men's golf team finished third overall at the Alvernia Spring Invitational, an 18-hole event held at the Ledge Rock Golf Club on Monday. The event was originally scheduled for 36 holes but the final 18 holes were canceled Tuesday due to weather. The event was held at Ledgerock Golf Club.
In a tie for sixth place, first-year
Ryan Steigerwald (Mars, Pa. / Mars Area) led the Presidents with an 18-hole score of 77.
Captains
Luke Lestini (Bridgeville, Pa. / South Fayette) and
Cade Patterson (Iwrin, Pa. / Penn Trafford) tied for 13th place, both finishing with a score of 78.
Sophomores
Andrew Platt (Somerset, Pa. / Somerset) and
Luke Eckmann (Clancy, Mont. / Jefferson) also competed for the Red & Black. Platt completed the course with a total of 80, coming in a tie for 24th place. Eckmann shot an 84 to round out the Presidents' performance at the invitational.
