Following a week in which she posted a career high in digs in three consecutive matches, Washington & Jefferson College junior defensive specialist Sophia Sacriponte (Butler, Pa./Butler) was voted Female President of the Week.

On Monday, she earned Presidents' Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors. Sacriponte totaled 103 digs (7.36 per set) last week for W&J. Her 39 digs in Saturday's five-set loss to Waynesburg marked a career high and are the second-most in a match by a PAC player this fall. The 39 digs are the most by a W&J player in a match since Makenzie Coughlin tallied 39 against Chatham on Oct. 31, 2019.  Sacriponte turned in a 31-dig performance in a 3-1 win Thursday at Saint Vincent, then tallied 33 digs in a five-set win Saturday against Franciscan. This is the first weekly award of Sacriponte's collegiate career.
