Washington & Jefferson College instituted a faculty/staff mentor program in 2007 to provide a valuable link between the student-athletes and the faculty and staff. This program allows faculty and staff members to serve as advocates for students participating in a given sport and fosters a working relationship between the faculty, staff, and coaching staff.
Faculty/staff team mentors enrich the overall experience for team members, encourage student athletes to be fully engaged in the curriculum and community and provide faculty/staff colleagues with understanding of the mission of intercollegiate athletics.
