Jim LaPenna

Jim LaPenna joins the Washington & Jefferson College coaching staff as the assistant men's lacrosse coach during the 2014-15 academic year.

A 2013 graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University, he was a four-year starting goalie for the Cardinals and earned 2013 ECAC All-Academic Lacrosse Team honors. While at WJU, he competed against some of the top Division II teams in the country, including his final career game against then-No. 1 Mercyhurst in the Cardinals first-ever postseason appearance. He also worked with youth lacrosse players at camps and instructional practices.

Prior to arriving at W&J, he was the assistant coach at Cecil College (Md.) during the inaugural season of the NJCCA program. His primary responsibilities at Cecil included coaching the defense and goalies and implementing practice and game plans.

He also has experience coaching with the Riptide Summer League, educating both high school JV and varsity players on the game. While he was a four-year starting goalie and two-year captain at Bel Air High School in Maryland, he worked with youth lacrosse teams in the area.
