Sean Dove

Sean Dove enters his eighth season as the head men's and women's golf coach at Washington & Jefferson College in 2015-16. 

Dove has guided his teams to seven Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, four by his men's squads and three for his women's teams. He has also earned seven PAC Coach of the Year awards, four on the men's side and three on the women's side.

Both squads won the 2014-15 PAC Championship and earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships. The women placed 17th in their first-ever appearance at the national event, while the men came in 24th.

Three Presidents garnered First Team All-PAC honors during the 2012-13 season as Matthew Stearns '15, Jennifer Suder '15 and Amanda Halula '16 all earned the award under Dove's direction.

During the 2012 season, Dove guided the men's team to its second-straight conference title and NCAA Tournament appearance. The team placed 35th at the tournament.

In 2011, W&J claimed its 15th PAC men's golf title and earned the automatic bid to compete at the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Presidents finished 27th at the championship event. Dove played an important role in the development of Brad Cieslinski '11, who earned 2011 PING All-Region honors. 

Dove also helped the W&J men record their best-ever team finish at the 2009 NCAA Division III Championships by placing 14th of 35 teams .

Under his guidance, 26 players have earned all-conference laurels and three have claimed PAC medalist (Player of the Year) honors: Leslie Walker '10 (2009, 2010) and Ted Marron (2010)

Dove chairs the East Region NCAA Division III Women's Championship committee and is the Division III chairman for the Men's Scholar All-America committee. In addition, Dove is the chairman of the GCAA Byron Nelson Award for the 2011-12 season. 

Prior to his arrival in Washington, Pa., Dove spent the two seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of Akron.

During the 2006-07 season, the Zips earned their best finish in school history at the MAC Championship Tournament after placing second of nine teams.

Dove was a four-year golf letter winner at Akron (2002-2006) and a four-time Dean’s List student. After competing in 36 career tournaments, Dove was honored with Akron’s Athletic Director Award in 2006 which recognizes a high level of leadership, skill and community service for the men’s golf team.

A graduate of Burgettstown High School, Dove was also a member of Akron’s Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC).

Dove graduated from Akron in 2006 with a degree in business and organizational communications. He also earned a MBA at Akron with a concentration in management.
