Men's Basketball 100-Year Reunion Weekend A Success

Box Score WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson College celebrated 100 years of varsity college basketball this past weekend with a number of events on campus.

W&J basketball alumni participated in an alumni game Friday night at the Henry Memorial Center and then headed to a reception at Solomon's Seafood thanks to the help of 1997 graduate and former basketball player Mike Williamson.

On Saturday, many past Presidents braved the snow and made it back for a halftime recognition of all in attendance.  Special recognition was given to the 1993-94 NCAA Elite Eight Team and the 2008-09 ECAC South Championship Squad.

Prior to the game, a moment of silence was held as two members of W&J's basketball history passed away last week.  1959 graduate, W&J Hall of Famer and single-game point record holder Larry Romboski passed way on Wednesday.  On Friday night, the head coach of the 1993-94 Presidents, Tom Reiter, passed away.  The Presidents' coach from 1993-2002, Reiter was an assistant athletics director at his alma mater, Purdue.
