FULL RESULTSWASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson swimming and diving teams each dropped a Presidents' Athletic Conference meet against Westminster at Henry Memorial Natatorium.
The W&J women drop to 4-1 on the season with a 1-1 mark in league action after suffering a 177-118 loss to the Titans. The Presidents' men's team moves to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the PAC with a 167-113 setback.
Jessica Sweitzer won the 100 freestyle for the fourth-straight meet to open the year with a time of 55.35.
Rachel Nye sprinted to a time of 25.40 to win the 50 freestyle by .32. In the 200 individual medley,
Rachel Murphy clocked in at 2:21.70 to win by .41. The team of
Madison Babicka,
Laura Travers, Nye and Sweitzer earned a victory in the 400 free relay to close the meet, timing in 3:48.58.
Jennifer Suder was the top scorer in both diving competitions, totaling 234.15 in the one-meter before posting a 241.35 in the three-meter event.
For the men,
Chris Ratliff earned a victory in the 50 freestyle by .36 over teammate
Matt Noel.
Jon Krail finished second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:05.75, 1.7 off the pace. W&J's 400 free relay squad of
Nick Willison,
Ben Henrichs,
Owen Hanna and Ratliff finished in second by just under a second with a time of 3:21.13.
The Presidents are back in the pool on Saturday, Nov. 15 hosting York (Pa.) at 1 p.m.
