GRANVILLE, Ohio -- Three players scored in double figures for the Presidents, but it wasn't enough to take down Denison on the road, as W&J fell 76-65.
With the loss, the Washington & Jefferson men's basketball team falls to 0-3 to begin the 2014-15 season. Denison improves to 2-0 after previously defeating defending-Presidents' Athletic Conference champion Saint Vincent to open the season.
The Big Red led 40-28 at halftime thanks in part to a 10-2 run near the end of the first half.
Adam Robison knocked down a three to begin the second half and
Mitch Locher hit a jumper at the 19:00 mark to bring the score within seven, 40-33. That would be as close as W&J would get, however, en route to the non-conference defeat.
Mike Resnik led the team in scoring for the third-straight game to open the season, putting up 23 points on 8-of-13 from the floor and 7-of-7 at the free-throw line. The senior also recorded team highs of six rebounds and two steals.
Locher scored 13 points in his first action of the season, adding three rebounds and two blocks.
Jake Swan went 3-for-3 from beyond-the-arc for nine of his 11 points on the day.
The Presidents are back in action on Saturday, Nov. 22 at Baldwin Wallace for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference tip-off.
