PITTSFORD, N.Y. --
Mike Resnik recorded his second-straight double-double with a career-best 28 points and 11 rebounds as W&J dropped a 78-60 decision against Utica in the opener of the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Tournament, hosted by St. John Fisher.
Resnik's career-high was a game high as the Presidents fell to 1-9 on the season. Washington & Jefferson will play the host Cardinals on Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 3 p.m.
Of the senior's career total, 16 of his points came in the first half as he went 7-of-12 from the field in the opening 20 minutes. For the game, he connected on 10-of-18 field goals and 8-of-11 free-throw attempts.
Mitch Locher joined Resnik in double figures at 13 points.
Adam Robison provided nine rebounds in the loss.
