Presidents Dominate Cougars On Senior Day

Box Score WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Kara Seamon dished out a career-high 11 assists and 11 different Presidents scored as Washington & Jefferson rolled to an 86-39 Senior Day women's basketball victory over Chatham on Saturday afternoon at the Henry Memorial Center. 

The Presidents (16-7, 11-5 PAC), who now own a 22-0 all-time record versus the Cougars (3-20, 2-14 PAC), raced out to a 34-6 lead in the opening 13 minutes and never looked back.  W&J scored over half (44) of its points in the paint and produced 24 points on fast breaks. 

Chelsea Apke recorded 16 points and six rebounds in 16 minutes of action to lead the Presidents, while Alexa Burzese and Tori Bishop both added 12.  Beka Bellhy rounded out four Presidents in double figures with 11 points. 

Seamon had a solid all-around effort with eight points, 11 assists, five rebounds and four steals.  Valerie Dunlap contributed eight points, seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks.  She is now two blocked shots away from breaking the school's all-time record. 

W&J shot 52 percent (33-64) and held Chatham to 24 percent (15-62).  The Presidents had 24 assists on their 33 baskets. 

Washington & Jefferson hosts Geneva Wednesday night at 6:00 pm.
