Alexa Burzese's 15 points, four assists and three steals helped Washington & Jefferson double up Geneva 76-38 in PAC women's basketball Wednesday night at the Henry Memorial Center.Â
The Presidents (17-7, 12-5) clinched a Tuesday quarterfinal round home game for next week's PAC Tournament by shooting 51 percent overall (28-55). W&J limited Geneva to 11 field goals overall, including just four in the opening 20 minutes as the Presidents built a 41-14 lead.Â
Valerie Dunlap blocked the 133rd shot of her career and is now tied for the program's all-time record with 133. She shares the record for now with W&J Hall of Famer and 2006 graduate Leigh Sulkowski. Dunlap added seven points and seven rebounds in 18 minutes of action.Â
Burzese made 6-of-10 shots from the field, including 3-of-7 from three-point range to record her 15 points.Â
Beka Bellhy also netted 15 points for W&J in 20 minutes of action.Â
Jaime Tedesco produced a career-high 10 points off the bench for the Presidents, who received 40 points from their reserves.Â
Geneva shot just 26 percent (11-43) and committed 21 turnovers. W&J held a commanding 44-21 edge on the boards.Â
W&J travels to Bethany on Saturday at 2:00 pm. A win over the Bison would clinch the No. 3 seed in the upcoming PAC Tournament.Â
