Box Score DELAWARE, Ohio -- The Presidents rallied to force overtime, but Ohio Wesleyan scored the game-winner just 1:15 into extra time as W&J lost, 2-1, in non-conference play.
With the loss, the Washington & Jefferson women's soccer team drops to 0-2 on the season. Ohio Wesleyan gets their first victory of the year to improve to 1-2.
The winning goal came after 1:15 had elapsed in overtime when OWU's Elisabeth D'Amelio scored from 15 yards out on the right.
W&J forced overtime after trailing 1-0 through 45 minutes of play.
Jess Skovira scored on a long shot as the clock hit the 56th minute, tying the game, 1-1.
For the game, W&J held a 26-19 advantage on shots, thanks to a 16-9 edge in the second half.
Hayley Skovira led all players with 10 shots, while
Tatiana Ruzzini added seven shots and
Jess Skovira added five shots.
Morgan Kinyon suffered the defeat in goal, making 11 saves in 91:15 between the pipes.
The Presidents continue their five-game road swing on Friday, Sept. 12 with a 7 p.m. match at Carnegie Mellon.
