BETHANY, W.Va. -- The Presidents trailed by just three with under a minute remaining, but Bethany made six free throws in the final 34 seconds in a 78-69 win over Washington & Jefferson.
A jumper by
Tyler Haas with 44 seconds to go brought the score within three points, 72-69, but the foul shooting by the hosts sealed the game.
Four Presidents reached double figures, led by
Mitch Locher'a 16 points which matched a season-high.
Mike Resnik made 10-of-11 free throws en route to 14 points.
Brian Lindquist tied a career high with 11 points and added a new high mark in rebounds with nine in his third career start.
Tanner Huffman knocked down a trio of triples for the Presidents to finish with nine points, while
Adam Robison added seven points, nine boards and four assists off the bench.
After shooting just 30.8 percent (8-of-26) in the first half, W&J made 51.9 percent (14-of-27) of its shots in the second half.
Delonte' Joyce paced the Bison with 32 points.
W&J returns home for a pair of Presidents' Athletic Conference contests this week, the first of which is an 8 p.m. tip-off against Westminster on Wednesday, Jan. 21.
