FULL RESULTSBETHANY, W.Va. -- The Presidents began the 2015 portion of the schedule with a pair of sweeps over Bethany in Presidents' Athletic Conference action in West Virginia.
The Washington & Jefferson men were victorious by a count of 119-84, earning their first PAC win at 1-2 and evening the overall mark at 4-4. The women posted a 111-78 win to move to 8-1 in dual meets this season and 3-1 in the league.
W&J swept both 200 medley relay events to open the meet.
For the men,
Nick Willison was the fastest in three events (50 freestyle - 22.17; 500 freestyle - 5:03.94; 400 IM- 4:33.64), while
Mike Magdic (100 backstroke - 59.98; 200 backstroke - 2:14.12) and
Josh Vasko (1-meter diving - 205.25; 3-meter diving - 202.50) each won two.
Four women were two-time winners in individual races.
Jenny Matuszewski (1650 free - 19:20.30; 400 IM - 5:10.98),
Rachel Murphy 100 breast - 1:22.65; 200 back - 2:21.12),
Jessica Sweitzer (50 free - 25.71; 500 free - 5:35.37) and
Haley Ashner (1-meter diving - 206.55; 3-meter diving - 197.20).
Additionally, W&J swept all four relay events, both 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay.
Washington & Jefferson has a quick turn around in within the PAC, hosting Grove City at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10.
