Box Score WASHINGTON, PA. -- The Washington & Jefferson's Women's Soccer team secured its 10th shutout of the season in a 3-0 victory over Saint Vincent at home for Senior Day 2015. Six seniors were honored for their hard work and dedication throughout their time as student-athletes for the W&J women's soccer team.
Scoring opened at 2:50 into the game with a chipped-in goal by
Jordan Toohey, her 26th of the season, thanks to a pass from
Abigail DeIuliis.
The rest of the first half was scoreless, with Saint Vincent only taking one shot.
The second half saw more from the Presidents' attack.
Lauren Virgin notched her third goal of the season at 72:55 off of a rebound from a shot on goal by
Josie Madden.
At 79:38 Madden contributed her 12th assist on the season to help
Mariah Lockard score her fourth goal of the year.
With the win, W&J advances to 13-1-1 overall and 7-0-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, while
Allison Rinehimer moves to 9-1-1 on the season with her sixth shutout of the year.
The Presidents will remain at home as they take on Westminster in their final regular season game on Oct. 27 at 7:30 pm for Red Card Cancer Night.
