Field Hockey season ends with 2-0 loss to Ithaca

ITHACA, N.Y. – Fourth seeded Washington & Jefferson put a close to its season with a 2-0 loss to top seed Ithaca in the semifinals of the Empire 8 Championship Tournament.

The first half was kept scoreless with Morgan Brozena in the cage making two saves and Laura O'Malley getting a shot off.

The beginning of the second half saw Caroline Kallos taking a shot this time and Brozena making another save.

It wasn't until 48:52 into the game that Ithaca was able to slip one into the back of the net from the left side to the near post.

41 seconds later, at 49:33, Ithaca notched another, this time high into the net near the post.

O'Malley, Kelly Knisel and Lauren Brown each took a shot but were unable to answer.

Brozena made a last save at 57:45, giving her four in the game, finishing her career at 219, tied for second on the W&J all-time list with Shelby Colyer.
