WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- Senior
Mike Resnik became the 23rd student-athlete in Washington & Jefferson men's basketball history to reach 1,000-career points in an 83-38 loss at Waynesburg.
Resnik stepped to the free throw line with 8:19 remaining in the game needing two more points to reach the milestone and calmly knocked down both shots to enter the W&J record books. He later added another free throw before exiting with a team-best 12 points on the day, giving him 1,001 in his career.
Doug Johnson made a pair of three-pointers to join
Mitch Locher with six points apiece. Locher also tied for the game high with seven rebounds.
The Presidents host Presidents' Athletic Conference leader Saint Vincent at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11.
