WASHINGTON, Pa. --
Diana Harvey and
Ashley Bulger combined for 15 points in a 16-7 win over Waynesburg for the Presidents in the Ohio River Women's Lacrosse Conference.
Washington & Jefferson has won four of its last five matches and improves to 5-2 on the season, while remaining undefeated in ORWLC battles at 3-0.
Waynesburg began the scoring 2:47 into the contest before W&J rattled off four goals to build a 4-1 lead. After the Yellow Jackets responded with two of the next three tallies, W&J scored four-straight, including a pair by Bulger, to build the lead to 9-3. Waynesburg scored the final goal of the first half with 2:30 remaining as W&J held a 9-4 lead at intermission.
Bulger opened the scoring in the second half and then the Yellow Jackets responded with two goals to make it 10-6.
Caroline Kallos and Harvey then notched two goals each as the margin went to 14-6. Harvey found the back of the net at the 3:00 mark and with 45 seconds to play for her sixth and seventh goals of the contest, 16-7.
Harvey increased her scoring output for the third-consecutive game with eight points on a career-best seven goals and an assist. She also picked up seven ground balls, seven draw controls and four caused turnovers.
Bulger moved within one of the single-season assists record with three helpers and four goals. The single-season mark is 13 set by Brittney Oake in 2012. She also added four scores and finished the game tied with Harvey for the team lead with 24 scores.
Caroline Kallos contributed a hat trick and two assists to move within two of Oake's record, with 11 assists. Kallos also posted six draw controls as the Presidents held an 18-7 lead in the category.
W&J nearly doubled Waynesburg in shots, 35-18.
Kelsey Roetenberg made six saves in picking up her fifth win of the season. She will be the lone senior honored before Saturday's Senior Day ORWLC match-up against Defiance, beginning at 1 p.m.
