W&J rolls to seventh win, downs Thomas More 13-2

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. -- The Washington & Jefferson women's lacrosse team won its seventh game of the season with a 13-2 triumph at Thomas More.

The Presidents improve to 7-3 on the year and 5-1 in Ohio River Women's Lacrosse Conference action. The Saints fall to 0-8 overall and 0-7 in the ORWLC in their first season as a varsity sport.

Ashley Bulger figured in on the first three goals of the game (two goals, one assist) as W&J worked a 3-0 lead in the first 8:41. After a TMC tally at 20:46 left in the first half, the Presidents rattled off the next eight scores to build an 11-1 lead midway through the second half.

On the day, Bulger led all players with six points on four goals (seventh hat trick of the season) and two assists. Caroline Kallos recorded her fourth-straight and seventh overall hat trick in the first 10 games of her career. The freshman also added a pair of helpers to total five points. For the sixth-straight contest, Diana Harvey found the back of the net at least three times with three goals and an assist.

Bulger (17), Kallos (15) and Harvey (13), now have each surpassed or tied the former W&J single-season assist record (13).

Kelsey Roetenberg made seven saves in the win, which was the sixth time this season she has allowed single-digit goals. She improved her goals-against average to 9.79, which ranks second in the ORWLC, while improving her save percentage to a league-leading .526.

The Presidents will now make the 70-plus mile drive to Hanover, Ind., before playing Hanover on Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m.
