La Roche Tournament wraps-up with second split of the weekend

 
PITTSBURGH, Pa. – W&J finished off the La Roche Redhawk Tournament with another split, falling 3-1 to the host, La Roche, and sweeping their second opponent of the day, Chatham, 3-0.
 
The scores for the President's third game of the tournament against La Roche were 25-16, 25-23, 25-19, 25-18. The game scores for the final game versus Chatham were 25-11, 25-11, 25-12.
 
Nicole Bishwaty was able to dominate both offensively and defensively throughout the first game, tallying 10 kills, 17 assists, and 10 digs. Supporting her offensively was Emily Toy with 13 assists and Sarah Dindak with 10 kills of her own, while Allison Means had 16 digs on defense.
 
Against Chatham, W&J recorded 11 kills and 5 aces by Dindak, as well as 12 assists by Bishwaty. Toy and Madison Heil were also able to contribute with 10 assists each. Defensively, Means posted 15 digs while Madison Lydic provided 4 blocks.
 
The conclusion of this tournament brings the Washington & Jefferson volleyball team's record to 2-2 entering into the beginning of their Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule on Sept. 9 against Waynesburg at 7:00 pm in Waynesburg, Pa.
