The Washington & Jefferson women's basketball team suffered their first loss in the Presidents' Athletic Conference of the 2015-16 campaign, falling to top-ranked and defending national champion Thomas More, 103-56.
Â
Beka Bellhy was the surge in the Presidents' offense in the first half, having nine points going into the break. However, Thomas More was able to hold her to those nine points for the rest of the game.
Â
In the second half, the offense for W&J had to come from somewhere else, with Bellhy being held at bay.
Rachel Bellhy and
Danielle Parker both had a great second half, with R. Bellhy scoring 11 points and Parker chipping in 10.
Â
B. Bellhy also contributed to the rebounding game, along with
Mya Gordon, by bringing down five rebounds each, tying for the team-high.
Â
W&J moves to 10-3 on the season and 5-1 in PAC play. They will head home to face Saint Vincent on January 13 at the Henry Memorial Center. The game will be played at 8 P.M, following the men's basketball game against the Bearcats.
