GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson men's basketball team opened its 2016-17 campaign with a 96-84 loss at Denison on Tuesday night, Nov. 15, in nonconference action.

After leading the 2015-16 team with 15.7 points per game,
Brian Graytok (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) scored 23 points to lead all scorers in the game. Graytok made 9-of-13 shots from the field, in addition to five free throws, and recorded a team-high five assists to go along with four rebounds and three steals in 36 minutes of action.

Christian Rohaus (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford), who was second on the 2015-16 squad with 10.4 points per game, totaled 17 points in the game as he shot 6-for-12 from the field, including 3-for-6 from long range.
Sean Stinelli (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) also had a strong shooting game as he also made 6-of-12 from the field and 3-of-7 three-pointers to finish with 16 points.

Brian Lindquist (Narvon, Pa./Pequa Valley) was the fourth President to score in double figures, finishing with 13 points on 5-for-8 shooting, including 3-for-4 from the charity stripe. Lindquist also tallied a team-high five rebounds to go along with three assists and two blocks on defense.

As a team, the Presidents shot 32-of-56 (.571) from the field and made nine three's on 19 attempts (.474) and committed just 13 turnovers while forcing 17.

The Presidents will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 18, when they travel to Fredericksburg, Va., to face Mary Washington (7 p.m.) on the first of two days for the Mary Washington Tip-Off Tournament.
