W&J's season ends, 3-1, to Grove City in PAC semis

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson women's soccer team fell to No. 3 Grove City, 3-1, in the Presidents' Athletic Conference semifinals on Wednesday night, Nov. 2.

With the loss, the Presidents finish their season with an overall record of 13-5-2.

Jordan Toohey (Mount Pleasant, Pa./Mount Pleasant/Saint Francis (Pa.)) provided the lone President goal in the 88th minute when she fired a shot from 20 yards out over the Wolverines' leaping keeper after receiving a short, one-touch pass from Victoria Bowler (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park).

The Wolverines got on the board twice early with goals from Lindsay Hutton and Lacy Harkrader in the 10th and 14th minutes, respectively. In the 64th minute, the Wolverines tacked on their third goal on a penalty kick taken by Harkrader following a W&J handball in the goal box.

Allison Rinehimer (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area) (11-5-2) took the loss in goal for the Presidents as she made six saves while Trishae Winters (15-4) got the win for the Wolverines with five saves.

As a team, the Presidents outshot the Wolverines 17-12, including a 12-5 advantage in the second half, and put seven shots on goal.
