BETHANY, W.Va. -- The Washington & Jefferson volleyball team was defeated, 3-0, by Bethany in the Presidents' Athletic Conference semifinals on Friday night, Nov. 4, as the final set scores totaled 16-25, 21-25, 18-25.
The loss drops the Presidents' final overall record to 20-10, the most wins in a single-season since the 2005 team went 24-7.
Abbey Eich (Greencastle, Pa./St. Maria Goretti (Md.)) and
Madison Lydic (Erie, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf) led the Presidents' offense with seven kills apiece with .240 and .545 respective hitting percentages while Lydic recorded a match-high seven blocks.
Mallory O'Brien (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) led W&J with 14 assists to go along with six digs while
Emily Toy (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) recorded nine assists.
Allison Means (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville) led the Presidents' defense with 18 digs. Means finishes her career with 1,904 digs, second most in W&J Volleyball history.
