W&J wraps up 2016 portion of schedule with wins in West Virginia

Women's Results: W, 81-49
Men's Results: W, 104-83

How it Happened: The Washington & Jefferson men's and women's swimming & diving teams wrapped up the fall semester portion of the 2016-17 season by sweeping a pair of Presidents' Athletic Conference dual meets at Bethany.

Top Performers: Four Presidents captured the victory in a trio of events. Laura Travers (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) earned individual wins in the 1650 free (18:59.40) and 500 free (5:39.69) and swam the third leg of the successful 200 free relay (1:43.68). Maris Leonard (Pittsburgh, Pa./Greensburg-Salem) claimed the 50 free title (26.22) and was the last leg of the 200 medley relay (2:02.64) and second leg of the women's 200 free relay. Owen Hanna (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) sprinted to wins in the 50 free (22.59), 100 free (50.63) and third leg of the men's 200 free relay (1:33.35). Nicholas Willison (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) opened the 200 medley relay (1:45.36) and claimed solo crowns in the 100 individual medley (56.47) and 100 breaststroke (1:04.99).

The Rest: Alexis Glenn (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) posted a pair of victories in the third leg of the 200 medley relay and the 100 IM (1:04.57), as did Rachel Nye (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) in the 100 butterfly (1:05.07) and as the lead leg of the 200 free relay. For the men, Jeremy Glasner (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) scored the top time in the 200 (1:58.03) and 500 (5:15.21) freestyle events. The one-meter diving high scores went to Kaitlyn Pawcio (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop) with her score of 380.25, while Theo Skoric (Vanderbilt, Pa./Laurel Highlands) took home the men's one-meter with a  340.45.

What's Next: The Presidents will return to competition on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, when they host Grove City in PAC action at the Henry Memorial Natatorium.
