FRANKLIN, Ind. -- With an 11-7 Ohio River Lacrosse Conference victory over Franklin, Washington & Jefferson women's lacrosse advances its win streak to six games while moving its overall record on the season to 7-4 and its conference record to 4-0.
Although the Grizzlies were first to strike, the Presidents were quick to answer, tying the score with a goal by
Monica Ewansik and then taking the lead thanks to a goal by
Ashley Bulger. Following an exchange of tallies, momentum moved in W&J's favor with a man-up goal by
Diana Harvey, as
Alex Dikos followed with a goal of her own and then Bulger notched two more. The half ended with a score of 7-3 in favor of the Presidents.
Franklin opened scoring in the second half, but two goals in a row by
Caroline Kallos, including a free-position shot, kept W&J in the lead. The Grizzlies attempted to close the margin with three goals of their own, but Kallos once again responded, recording her third of the game at 10:33 and registering her fourth to end the game with 32 seconds remaining.
Bulger and Kallos each had four goals on the day, with Kallos as well as Ewansik contributing a pair of assists each.
Michaela Mulokey was in the cage for the Presidents with eight saves, improving to 6-1 on the season.
W&J will remain on the road as it travels to Waynesburg on Wednesday, April 13 to take on the Yellow Jackets at 5:00 pm.
