OBERLIN, Ohio -- The Washington & Jefferson men's lacrosse team fell at Oberlin, 7-5, on Wednesday, despite
Devon Curran and
Kyle Heinig each scoring twice.
The contest marked the final nonconference match of the season for the Presidents, who will conclude the 2016 campaign with five Ohio River Lacrosse Conference matches.

The Presidents found themselves tied with the Yeomen after the first quarter, 2-2, with Curran and
Bryan Whipkey each notching a goal.
Â
Oberlin went on to score twice in the second period to close out the half giving them a 4-2 lead.

The Yeomen added another goal early in the third quarter making the score 5-2. In the fourth, W&J rallied back to score three unanswered goals, to tie the game, 5-5, with Curran netting his second score of the game and Heinig adding two of his own.

However, the Presidents would give up two more goals to the opposition in the fourth concluding the score at 7-5.

For Heinig, it was the seventh multi-goal game of the season while Curran notched his fifth of the year.

Jacob Succop recorded 10 saves while accounting for nine ground balls in 60 minutes of play.

W&J recorded 39 shots to Oberlin's 32 while tying the opposition in shots on goal with 17. The Yeomen recorded 37 ground balls to the Presidents 35, as well as controlled more faceoffs, 12-4.

The Presidents will jump back into league play next, where they will host Thiel at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 9.
