Presidents falter in season opener against Stevenson, 80-65

Box Score MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson men's basketball team dropped the season opener to Stevenson, 80-65, on Friday, Nov. 17 in the opener of the Greg Richards Memorial Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Allegheny.
 
Brian Lindquist (Narvon, Pa./Pequea Valley) finished with a team-high 14 points on 6-of-11 from the floor and a game-high seven rebounds. Sean Stinelli (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) tallied 13 points, including two three-point field goals.
 
In his collegiate debut, Nicholas Campalong (Sewickley, Pa./Ambridge) added 10 points and pulled in four rebounds and two steals. While classmate Amos Luptak (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) added seven points and two assists off the bench.
 
As a team, the Presidents made 10-of-11 free throws and scored 22 points off of 19 forced turnovers.
 
W&J will continue play at the tournament on Saturday, Nov. 18, with tip-off against host Allegheny slated for 5:00 p.m.
