BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- The Washington & Jefferson men's and women's swimming & diving teams suffered a loss each at the hands of West Virginia Wesleyan, 166-22 for the men and 138-65 for the women, in nonconference action on Saturday, Nov. 4.
The women were led by
Chloe Magyari (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) and
Alexis Glenn (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) who combined for three individual wins. Magyari notched wins in the 100 (55.41) and 200 freestyles (2:03.89) and Glenn earned a win in the 200 backstroke (2:19.45).
Jillian McElhaney (Butler, Pa./Butler Area) finished as the runner up in the 50 freestyle (27.07), just ahead of
Kiera MacWhinnie (South Portland, Maine/Waynflete School) who finished the event in 27.71 seconds, good for third place.
Paige Adams (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) and
Delaney Burke (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) recorded a third place finish each in the 500 freestyle (5:54.04) and the 200 breaststroke (2:48.88), respectively.
Jeremy Glasner (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) and
Owen Hanna (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) were the top finishers for the men's squad. Glasner came in second in the 200 backstroke (2:10.95) and the 400 individual medley (4:37.94) while Hanna totaled third place finishes in the 50 (23.55) and 100 freestyles (51.63).
The Presidents will be back in the pool on Saturday, Nov. 11, when they travel to York (Pa.) for a nonconference meet at 1:00 p.m.
