CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Washington & Jefferson men's basketball team began the unofficial second half of the 2017-18 season with a 94-55 loss against Wells (N.Y.) in the opening game of the Bill Sudeck Holiday Tournament, hosted by Case Western Reserve.
Nicholas Campalong (Sewickley, Pa./Ambridge) led the Presidents with 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including 2-for-2 from three-point range, while also pulling down eight boards in 19 minutes.
Matt Kanan (New Paltz, N.Y./New Paltz) knocked down all three of his triple attempts to finish with a career-high nine points off the bench.
Brian Lindquist (Narvon, Pa./Pequea Valley) was third for W&J with eight points, giving him an even 800 for his career in red & black. The senior also pulled down six boards.
Adam Alexander (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) was W&J's leading rebounder and facilitator, snaring career highs of nine boards and five assists.
The Presidents will play Alfred (N.Y.) in the consolation game at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30.
