Presidents upended in season opener at Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team dropped its first game of the 2017 season to Wooster on Saturday, Sept. 2, by a score of 3-0.

The first score of the match happened in the 32nd minute, as Wooster scored on a penalty kick. This goal was the only tally of the game until the final 11 minutes of regulation time, when the Fighting Scots were able to find the back of the net two more times, once in the 79th minute and again in the 84th minute.

Freshman Jacob Fetterman (Pottstown, Pa./The Hills School) recorded four of the Presidents' nine shots, with three landing on goal.

W&J keeper Nick Stasko (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) started in net, making three saves on the day.

The Presidents will return to the pitch for nonconference play on Monday, Sept. 4, at 7:00 pm as they host Mount Union.
