WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team earned its first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday, Sept. 6, in nonconference action.

Sam Caurdy (Brighton, Mich./Brighton) put the Presidents on the board early as he curled a corner kick into the net for an unassisted goal in the 11th minute.Â
Matt Prezioso (Clairton, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) added the second and final score as he received a pass from
Matt Kotkiewicz (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) and sent the ball inside the left post in the 22nd minute.

Prezioso and
Paul Mokrzan (Hilliard, Ohio/Watterson) both had three shots on the day, including two shots on goal from Prezioso.
Kyle Wisniewski (Green Bay, Wis./South West) and
Jacob Fetterman (Pottstown, Pa./The Hill School) added two shots apiece, with one and two shots on goal, respectively.

Nick Stasko (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) started in goal and earned the win as he made two saves in his 70:56 of action.
Ian Donlon (Latham, N.Y./Albany Academies) then came in for the final 19:04 and saved two shots as well in his collegiate debut.

W&J outshot the Bobcats, 17-11, and also held a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal.

The Presidents will return to the pitch on Saturday, Sept. 9,at 2:00 p.m. as they travel to face Hilbert in a nonconference battle.
