Box Score WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson men's basketball team used a late 11-0 run to complete its come-from-behind win at Waynesburg, 80-77, in Presidents' Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night, Jan. 17.

Trailing by a 67-61 mark with 5:55 remaining in the game,
Sean Stinelli (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) found his shooting stroke, scoring nine points in a row for the Presidents on three jumpers, including one three-pointer, plus two free throws to put W&J ahead for the first time since opening the game with the first bucket.

Brian Lindquist (Narvon, Pa./Pequea Valley) proceeded to hit a layup to extend the lead to five points at 72-67 with 3:03 remaining and give the Presidents their largest lead of the game. After both teams exchanged triples, W&J responded to a Waynesburg layup with two free throws from senior
Brian Graytok (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) to hold the lead at five points.

The Yellow Jackets scored the final basket of the game but with just three seconds left as W&J held on for the victory.

Trailing by a 38-32 mark to open the second half of play, the Yellow Jackets extended their lead to nine points over the first two possessions of the period. The Presidents answered back with eight consecutive points to trim the Waynesburg lead to one point with 16:13 to play.

Both teams fought hard throughout the half, but Waynesburg began to pull away as the Yellow Jackets outscored the Presidents, 24-19, over the next ten minutes of game time before Stinelli took over for W&J.

After opening the game with a score on the first possession, Waynesburg stormed back by scoring the next 14 points to grab a big, early lead. The Presidents did not back down, however, as they proceeded to outscore Waynesburg by a 30-24 margin the rest of the half to cut the deficit to 38-32.

Stinelli finished with 20 points in the game, his third 20-point effort of the season, on 6-of-12 shooting overall, including 4-for-10 from long range, the fourth game this season in which Stinelli has made at least four three-pointers. The sophomore added four rebounds, three assists and a steal to his line.

Lindquist tallied 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor and pulled down seven boards while
Jonathan DeVito (Pittsburgh, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) added 15 points off the bench on 5-of-9 shooting, 4-for-8 from beyond the arc, plus four assists and a pair of steals.

Graytok contributed nine points, six rebounds and six assists.

The Presidents finished with a shooting percentage of 55.3 in the game, including 60 percent (15-of-25) in the second half, and tied their season high in made three-pointers (11-of-27).

W&J will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 20, for a 3:00 p.m. PAC matchup with Geneva in Henry Gymnasium.
