WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The second-seeded Washington & Jefferson women's tennis team advanced to the Presidents' Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Championship semifinals with a 9-0 win over seventh-seeded Thiel on Tuesday night.
This is the first season the PAC has gone with a team championship format as opposed to the previous flighted brackets. W&J earned the second seed with its' 6-1 regular-season record in the league. The Presidents advanced to 10-5 on the fall season with the victory.
The semifinals and finals are scheduled to take place at the Janet L. Swanson Tennis Center on campus on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 19-20. W&J will take on third-seeded Westminster in the second semifinal on Friday afternoon, beginning at 4 p.m. While the quarterfinals were played to completion (all nine points), the semifinals and finals/consolation matches will be played to decision (first to five wins).
