WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Washington & Jefferson women's soccer brought a close to the 2018 season with a 2-0 setback to Pfeiffer (N.C.) in the first round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Women's Soccer Championship Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 10.
With the loss, the Presidents end the year with a 9-9-2 overall record. The Falcons, on the other hand, improve to 13-2 on the year and will battle McDaniel in the next round.
Back-to-back Pfeiffer goals in the 24th and 26th minutes stood as the only scoring in today's match.
The Presidents had chances to cut into the Falcons' advantage, as they tallied eight shots, six on goal.
Brianna Floryshak (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area) paced the team with four shots, while
McKenna Lewis (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) recorded two in her second appearance of the season.
Shayla Watkins (Charleroi, Pa./Charleroi) made nine saves in 90 minutes in goal for W&J. Watkins ends her rookie campaign with an 8-7-2 record, 112 saves, and a .862 save percentage, which ranks second in the PAC.
