WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson women's lacrosse team opened Ohio River Lacrosse Conference action with a 14-8 win over Saint Vincent on Wednesday night, March 28.

The Presidents improve to 4-2 overall with the win and 1-0 in the ORLC and handed Saint Vincent (4-2) its first conference loss of the season (2-1).

It took just 18 seconds for W&J to get on the board first when
Caroline Kallos (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) scored her only goal of the game.
Jenna Allen (Sanford, Fla./Seminole) and
Alexis Miller (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) proceeded to score the next two goals to give the Presidents a 3-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the game.

After two Bearcat goals, W&J rattled off six straight goals, three each coming from
Rae LaRochelle (East Sandwich, Mass./Sandwich) and Miller, to move ahead 9-2 with 19:52 remaining in the second half.

Saint Vincent responded by scoring six of the next eight goals in the game to cut the W&J lead to 11-8 before
Kayla Boulas (North Branford, Conn./North Branford),
Sierra Meyer (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) and
Sofiya Bobrovnikova (Philadelphia, Pa./Northeast) tacked one goal each onto the lead to close out the game.

Miller's four goals marked a season high and gave her the second hat trick of her career as the junior midfielder shot six times and picked up two ground balls, won two draw controls and caused a turnover on defense.

LaRochelle (four goals) tallied the 22nd hat trick of her career and has an active six-game hat trick streak. Kallos had her fourth game of the season with at least four points and the second three-assist effort of the campaign. The two combined for nine ground balls, six caused turnovers and nine draw controls.

Bobrovnikova and Boulas both had one goal and one assist each while Meyer's late game score was the fourth of her career.

Allison Onslow (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) logged the second most caused turnovers of the game with three to go along with a ground ball.

Sara Maute (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J Roberts) finished the game with 14 saves, the fourth game of the year with double-digit stops.

The Presidents will return to the field on Wednesday, April 4, when they begin a three-game road trip at Chatham with the opening draw slated for 7:30 p.m.
