MARIETTA, Ohio -- Three errors in a four-run second inning put the Presidents in a hole they were unable to recover from in a 9-2 loss at No. 15 Marietta.
With the loss, the Washington & Jefferson baseball team drops to 19-10-1 on the season, while Marietta improves to 20-7.

Spencer Howell (Oakwood, Ohio/Oakwood) contributed two of W&J's three hits at the plate, while center fielder
Ryan Sciullo (Vandergrift, Pa./Kiski Area) tallied the other base knock.
W&J threw eight different pitchers one inning apiece as
Tanner Gaerke (Plain City, Ohio/Jonathon Alder) got the start and threw a perfect first inning.
Matt Heslin (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry) was saddled with the loss as he pitched the second frame where the Pioneers scored four runs.
In total, the Presidents used 26 players in the game, eight pitchers and 18 position players.
W&J returns to Presidents' Athletic Conference action with a doubleheader at Geneva on Saturday, April 21. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
