W&J hosts Grove City for Senior Day



WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson swimming and diving teams hosted Grove City College for a Presidents' Athletic Conference meet on Saturday. The men fell by a 148-61 margin as the women lost by a 143-51 final. 

Before the start of the meet, W&J honored its four seniors: Kaitlyn Pawcio (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop), Jeremy Glasner (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown), Zach Lauer (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) and William Preston (Salem, N.H./Bradford Christian Academy). 

Lauer recorded a second place decision in the 100 Backstroke, posting a time of 55.24. Meanwhile, Glasner picked up a runner-up result in the 100 Breaststroke, with a time of 1:05.70. Glasner added a second place performance in the 200 Backstroke, with a time of 2:11.92. 

Glasner, Lauer, freshman Dean Kralic (Beaver Falls, Pa. / Riverside) and freshman Nick Belofsky (Aurora, Ohio / Aurora) worked together to add a runner-up effort in the 200 Yard Medley Relay (1:43.34). 

Kralic added second place finishes in the 200 Freestyle (55.24) and the 100 Butterfly (55.77). Freshman Colin Higinbotham (Denver, Pa. / Cocalico) tallied runner-up performances in the 50 Free (23.03) and the 100 Free (54.78). 

On the women's side, Pawcio recorded scores of 265.58 and 286.28 during her respective series of dives. 

Sophomore Kiera MacWhinnie (South Portland, Maine/Waynflete School) finished first in the 100 Backstroke, posting a time of 1:06.59. She added a second place performance in the 100 Freestyle (1:02.76). Freshman Kimber Randolph (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) was second in the 100 Butterfly (1:10.05). 

W&J travels to the Grove City Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 2. Start time is slated for 1 p.m.
