UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- The Washington & Jefferson College men's soccer team concluded its 2019 season with a 2-0 defeat to No. 7 John Carroll in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship.
John Carroll scored a goal in each half, finding the back of the net in the fifth and 51
st minutes of play.
After being held without a shot in the first half, W&J fired three shots in the second half, two by
Alvaro Viadas (Burgos, Spain) and another from
Quinn Pickering (Camp Hill, Pa./Camp Hill).
Sophomore
Samuel Miller (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) played all 90 minutes in goal and made a season-high 13 saves in the contest.
The Presidents conclude their season at 12-7-3, 7-0-1 PAC. W&J claimed both regular-season and Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Tournament championships and earned their third NCAA Tournament appearance in school history.
The Presidents established a new single-season program record with 53 goals and captured the team's fourth PAC title and first since 2007.
