NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio -- The Washington & Jefferson men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Baldwin Wallace University at the North Ridge Tennis and Golf Club in Ohio Friday evening.
The closest W&J came to victory was at second singles, where sophomore
Sam Bellini (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) locked in a battle with B-W's Matt Harris. Bellini scratched out a narrow 7-6 (11-9) win in the opening set before seeing Harris pull out a 6-4 (10-8) victory in the second set. In the third set tiebreak, Harris outlasted Bellini by a 10-8 margin.
With the loss, the Presidents' overall record falls to 3-1 for the 2018-19 campaign. B-W improves its record to 3-0 overall.
W&J is slated to return to action on Friday, March 1 at home against Pitt-Greensburg.
