Rae LaRochelle (Gibsonia, Pa./Mars Area) broke Washington & Jefferson women's lacrosse's single-season program record for goals in the Presidents' 21-3 win over Thiel on Saturday on Senior Day.

With today's victory, W&J ends the 2019 regular season with an 8-7 overall record. With a 6-1 mark in the PAC, the Presidents head into the conference tournament as the two seed. Thiel ends its season with an 8-8 overall record and a 3-4 mark in the PAC.

With a double-digit margin of victory, the Presidents held commanding leads today in shots (30-12), shots on goal (24-9), ground balls (17-13) and draw controls (14-11). The Red & Black's 21 goals are the team's second-highest scoring output of the season, trailing its 22-goal performance against Chatham on April 27.

LaRochelle had one of the best games of her collegiate career, setting a new career high with nine goals. After today, the junior has 64 goals in 2019, which is a new single-season program record. She is also second on the single-season point leaderboard with 86 this season.

Sofiya Bobrovnikova (Philadelphia, Pa./Northeast) also had an outstanding day with career highs in both points (8) and assists (6). Bobrovnikova is second on the Red & Black in both points (43) and assists (21) this year. Â

Freshman
Piper Schinsky (Princeton, N.J./The Hun School of Princeton) was third on the team with five points (3G, 2A), while
Kayla Boulas (North Branford, Conn./North Branford) was not far behind with four points (2G, 2A).

On the defensive end, Bobrovnikova tied
Jenna Allen (Sanford, Fla./Seminole) for the team lead with three ground balls each. Senior captain
Allison Onslow, who was honored pregame as a part of Senior Day, was one of four Presidents with two ground balls.
Clara Sherwood (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area) ended the day with a game-high seven draw controls.

Freshman goalie
Sam Lenfesty (Frederick, Md./Frederick) improved to 5-0 on the season with a complete-game showing. The rookie made six saves and has not allowed more than nine goals in a match all year.

The second-seeded Presidents will return to the turf on Tuesday, April 30, for a PAC Tournament Semifinal bout against third-seeded Franciscan. The match, which will take place at Alexandre Stadium, is slated to begin at 5 p.m.
