STUEBENVILLE, Ohio -- The Washington & Jefferson College swimming & diving teams competed at future-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Franciscan on Saturday afternoon.
The President men picked up a 97-11 win over Hiram while the Red and Black women fell 100-46 to Franciscan and 93-47 to Hiram.
The men's team nabbed nine first-place finishes on the afternoon, with
Mark Nikitine (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area) and
Andrew Ivory (Gibsonia, Pa./Mars) each collecting two wins.
Nikitine finished first in the 100-yard freestyle (54.28) and the 500 free (5:39.47). Ivory won the 200-yard individual medley (2:19.25) and the 200 breast (2:33.36).
Colin Higinbotham (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) won the 50 freestyle in 22.87 seconds while
Dean Kralic (Beaver Falls, Pa./Riverside) took the 200 back at 2:10.49.
Jacob Black (McKees Rocks, Pa./Montour) was the first to the wall in the 200 freestyle at 2:08.07.
The Kralic, Ivory, Higinbotham and
Alex Lee (Los Angeles, Calif./Eagle Rock) won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:50.70. Nikitine,
James Gunn (Beaver Falls, Pa./Riverside), Black and Higinbotham combined to win the 200 free relay at 1:42.99.
Despite having four women compete, the Presidents collected three victories on the afternoon.
Freshmen
Sarah Marshall (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) and
Isabella Manzari (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) each tallied an individual win on the afternoon for the President women.
Marshall took home the 50-yard freestyle in 26.96 and Manzari captured gold in the 100-yard free in 59.29.
Kimber Randolph (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) placed second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:30.68).
The quartet of Marshall, Manzari, Randolph and Katelyn McKeirnan (Columbus, N.J./Pennington) won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:54.41.
The W&J swimming and diving squads head to Grove City next Saturday for their final dual meet of the season.
